🎥 Speaking Arabic:

🧾 Intro / Reflection

Unfortunately, I didn’t pass Bronze 2 for Arabic this week. Honestly, I slacked a bit on studying, plus, Arabic is the first language I’m learning completely from scratch with my system, so I’m still figuring out the tools and strategies I’ll need to succeed. It’s a work in progress.

I’ve been using mnemonics to help memorize words, though I’ll admit I’m not very creative with that stuff. If you’ve got better mnemonic ideas, let me know.

I did take the test, but I bombed it, only answered about half the questions. The upside is, I now know exactly what I need to focus on, and I’ll be updating my notes since I realized I missed a few key things. It’s a good reminder that even when my system has holes, failure can still point me in the right direction.

I should be able to pass this rank next week, hopefully. In the meantime, still grinding some beermoney apps to make money online to help me cope with the frustration. The cash isn’t much, but it adds up. 👇

💸 Earn While You Learn
I like to stack beermoney while I study languages, most of these apps are super low-effort and just give me a nice bonus on top of learning. It’s not job-replacement money, but it adds up, especially since I’ve become more introverted. 👇

Bronze 2 Arabic Test Results

🔸 Part 1: Age & Time

  1. “Umri saba’a wa ishrin sana” – ✅ Correct! “I am 27 years old.” Nice!
  2. “Kam umrak / umrik” – ✅ Also correct. “How old are you?” (masc./fem.)
  3. “Ithnayn ithnayn wa khamsa” – ✅ You meant 2:25 — that’s understandable and shows you’re grasping numbers and clock time. A full way to say it would be:
    • As-sa’ah ithnayn wa khamsa wa ‘ishreen

Part 1 passed

🔸 Part 2: Likes/Dislikes

  1. “Baḥibb al’ab shay” – Close! Sounds like you meant “I like to play tea” — probably meant “I like tea”?
    • Correct would be: Baḥibb al-shay (I like tea)
  2. “Ma baḥibb qahwa” – ✅ Perfect for “I don’t like coffee”
  3. “Tal tuhib / taltuhibin” – Close! You meant to say “Do you like…?”
    • Correct: Hal tuḥibb al-musiqa? (Do you like music?)
(to a male: tuḥibb, to female: tuḥibbin)

🟡 Part 2: Nearly passed — just needs cleanup on vocab, not structure

🔸 Part 3: Daily Life & Hobbies

  1. “Don’t know” – no worries!
    • Useful phrase: Ba’l’ab al’āb video kulla yawm (I play video games every day)
  2. “Don’t know”
    • Example: Badrus ʿarabī fi aṣ-ṣabāḥ (I study Arabic in the morning)
  3. “Don’t know”
    • Try this format: Hiwayāti… (My hobbies are…)

🔴 Part 3 not passed yet — totally fine. We’ll build it up!

🔸 Part 4: Colors & Favorites

  1. “Lawnī elmo faddal azraq” – ✅ Almost perfect!
  • A smoother version: Lawnī al-mufaḍḍal azraq (My favorite color is blue)

  • Try: Mā lawnuka al-mufaḍḍal? (What’s your favorite color?)
    (or lawnik for female)

🟡 Part 4: Half passed

✅ Summary

You clearly have:

  • The structure and grammar of Bronze 2
  • Great ear and understanding of sentence building
  • Working vocab for age, likes/dislikes, and time

But you’re still missing a few key vocab pieces (hobbies, favorites, daily verbs), which you can absolutely learn in a day or two.

🟨 Verdict: Almost Bronze 2 — Just 3 Gaps to Patch

You’re one review session away from full Bronze 2. Here’s what to practice:

  • Learn these phrases:
    • I play video games every day = Ba’l’ab al’āb video kulla yawm
    • I study Arabic in the morning = Badrus ʿarabī fi aṣ-ṣabāḥ
    • My hobbies are… = Hiwayāti…
    • What’s your favorite color? = Mā lawnuka al-mufaḍḍal?
    • The book is red = Al-kitāb aḥmar

Next rank: Bronze 4 – talking shopping, directions, plans, and future tense while slowly building vocabulary and more sentences.
