🎥 Speaking Arabic: Bronze 1
🧾 Intro / Reflection
I finally passed Bronze 1 this week! It mostly came down to memorizing a few things since Bronze 1 is just simple sentences and basic requirements. I had a bit of trouble remembering some of the longer words, like certain days of the week or numbers from 1 to 10 that had more letters than the rest. I ended up creating some mnemonics and doing active recall every few minutes, which helped me memorize everything pretty quickly.
The test itself went pretty smoothly. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the formality side of things. Sometimes there’s an extra syllable at the start or end (or both) of words, and I don’t fully understand why yet. It makes studying and taking the tests a little messy, but I’ll figure it out eventually, probably once I stop being lazy about it.
I’m still stacking my beermoney apps while studying too. I don’t earn a lot, but since memorization doesn’t take much attention, I can squeeze in a bit of passive earning while learning. 👇
💸 Earn While You Learn
I like to stack beermoney while I study languages, most of these apps are super low-effort and just give me a nice bonus on top of learning. It’s not job-replacement money, but it adds up, especially since I’ve become more introverted. 👇

✅ Bronze 1 Arabic Test Results
✅ Part 1: Greetings & Introductions
- “Marhaba” and “Salam” — both are correct for “hello.”
- “Ana Andy” — you’re trying to say “My name is Andy.” The intent is clear! The standard way is:
👉 “Ana ismi Andy” (literally: “I, my name is Andy”). - “Ma asmuk?” — 💯 Perfect. That’s formal/classical for “What’s your name?”
✅ Passed this section
✅ Part 2: Yes/No, Please/Thanks
- Naam / Laa — correct.
- Law samahti / Law samaht — Yes! This means “excuse me” or “please” (feminine/masculine).
- Shokran laka — Correct (to a male); “Shukran” alone also works casually.
✅ Passed this section
✅ Part 3: Numbers & Days
- 1–5: Wahid, Ithnayn, Thalatha, Arba‘a, Khamsa — all correct (your spelling’s close enough).
- Days: Ithnayn (Monday), Thulatha (Tuesday) — great job!
✅ Passed this section
✅ Part 4: Basic Grammar
- “Inta misriyun” — nice attempt! You said “You are Egyptian.”
- The more casual way would be: Enta Masri (male), Enti Masriyya (female).
- You used formal/MSA — totally acceptable.
- “Huwa, Hiya” — ✅ right on for “he” and “she.”
