I like to stack beermoney while I study languages, most of these apps are super low-effort and just give me a nice bonus on top of learning. It’s not job-replacement money, but it adds up, especially since I’ve become more introverted. 👇

Silver Japanese Test Results

Part 1 – Opinions & Feelings
Translate into Japanese (romaji only):

1. I think this book is interesting.

1. Your sentence:
kono hon wa kyomibukai to omoimasu.

✔️ Correct idea! Just a small spelling fix: kyōmi-bukai (興味深い).
👉 Correct: Kono hon wa kyōmibukai to omoimasu.

2. I feel tired today.

2. Your sentence:
kyo tsuareta desu.
✔️ Good! Just spelling: kinō = yesterday, kyō = today.
And tsukareta = tired (past form, “became tired”).
👉 Correct: Kyō tsukareta desu.

3. I don’t think that movie is good.

3. Your sentence:
ano eiga wa warui to omoimasu.
✔️ Perfect! Natural.

Part 2 – Comparisons
Translate into Japanese (romaji only):
4. Coffee is better than tea.

4. Your sentence:
kofi no hou ga o-cha yori ii desu.
✔️ Correct. Better spelling: kōhī.
👉 Kōhī no hō ga ocha yori ii desu.

5. Yesterday was colder than today.

5. Your sentence:
kino no hou ga kyo samuii desu.
✔️ Good try! Just small fixes:

  • “kino” = should be kinō (yesterday).
  • “samuii” → samui.
👉 Kinō no hō ga kyō yori samui desu.

6. Among sports, soccer is the most fun.

6. Your sentence:
Suportsu de, socca wa ichiban no tanoshii desu.
✔️ Structure okay, just vocab fixes:

  • “suportsu” → supootsu.
  • “tanoshii” = fun, but usually “omoshiroi” or “tanoshikatta” works better for ranking.
👉 Supootsu de wa, sakkaa ga ichiban tanoshii desu.

Part 3 – Because / So
Answer in Japanese (romaji only):
7. Tell me why you like your favorite food. Use kara (because).

7. Your sentence:
oiishi kara kare ga suki desu.
✔️ Almost perfect! Small tweaks:

  • “kare” = “he/boyfriend.” You probably meant karee (curry).
👉 Oishii kara karee ga suki desu.

8. Tell me something you didn’t do because you were busy.

8. Your sentence:
Isogashi kara, atarashi anime wo minakatta desu.
Good effort! Just corrections:

  • Past negative polite: mimasen deshita (not watch).
👉 Isogashikatta kara, atarashii anime wo mimasen deshita.

Part 4 – Agreement & Disagreement
Fill in with natural Japanese (romaji only):
9. A: “Eiga wa omoshiroi desu.” (The movie is interesting.)
B: (Agree politely, say “I think so too.”)

10. A: “Kanojo wa yasashii desu.” (She is kind.)
B: (Disagree politely, say “I don’t think so.”)

9. Your sentence:
So desu, omoshiroi desu ne?
✔️ Understandable, but a closer match to “I think so too”:
👉 Watashi mo sou omoimasu.

10. Your sentence:
ehh? ore so wa omou wa arimasen.
Nice try! A bit rough/incorrect structure. Polite disagreement is:
👉 Sou wa omoi masen. (“I don’t think so.”)
If casual: Sou omowanai yo.

Part 5 – Short Conversation
Write 3–4 sentences (romaji only):
👉 Tell me your opinion about two foods, compare them, and explain why you like one more. Example: “I think ramen is delicious. Pizza is also good, but ramen is more delicious because …”

Your sentence:
Sushi no hou ga ramen yori ii desu. Sushi wa takusan no aji ga arimasu. Sushi no hou ga, ramen yori kara da ni ii desu. Ramen ga takusan no shio ga arimasu. Sushi no sakana taberu wa karada ni ii.

Great effort! You clearly made comparisons, reasons, and opinions. Let’s polish:

  • “kara da” → karada (body).
  • Better flow with “karada ni ii” (good for the body).
  • Fix grammar of “sushi no sakana taberu wa” → sushi no sakana wo taberu no wa.

👉 Corrected version:
Sushi no hō ga ramen yori ii desu. Sushi wa aji ga takusan arimasu. Sushi no hō ga ramen yori karada ni ii desu. Ramen wa shio ga takusan arimasu. Sushi no sakana wo taberu no wa karada ni ii desu.

🌟 Evaluation

  • Opinions: Yes, you can use to omoimasu.
  • Feelings: Yes (tsukareta desu).
  • Comparisons: Yes, just polish yori placement.
  • Because/So: Yes (kara).
  • Agreement/Disagreement: Yes, just refine phrasing.
  • Vocabulary: You’re comfortably using 300–400+ words.

✅ Verdict: You passed Silver 2!
