German Week 3 — Bronze Rank 3 Passed! Food, Feelings, Weather, Descriptions 💰 Earn & learn

🎥 Speaking German:

🧾 Intro / Reflection

Well… this week wasn’t terrible for German, but I can tell I’m close to hitting a wall. I’ve always struggled with German, especially the grammar, it just doesn’t stick. I think part of it is not having a relatable “anchor” to help me make sense of sentence structures.

I already knew most of what I had in my notes this week from previous learning, but I finally learned present continuous properly, turns out, it’s basically the same as saying you do something, no special conjugation required.

The test wasn’t hard overall, but I still struggled a bit with describing my routine. That’s always been a weak spot for me in German.

I’m still stacking beermoney apps to make money online while studying. Even small earnings help make the language grind more tolerable. 👇

💸 Earn While You Learn
I like to stack beermoney while I study languages, most of these apps are super low-effort and just give me a nice bonus on top of learning. It’s not job-replacement money, but it adds up, especially since I’ve become more introverted. 👇

Bronze 3 German Test Results

1. Morning Routine

“ich wache um sieben auf. Ich fruhstuke um neun. um zwolf ich klavier Uben. ich zu mittag essen um drei.”

🟢 Good structure and flow! A few adjustments:

  • frühstücke – correct present-tense form with umlaut.
  • üben should not be capitalized unless it’s a noun (verbs are lowercase).
  • For the midday meal: you need a verb — say “Ich esse zu Mittag um drei.”

✅ Corrected version:

Ich wache um sieben auf. Ich frühstücke um neun. Um zwölf übe ich Klavier. Ich esse zu Mittag um drei.

Pass

⚠️ 2. Linking Words

“ich bin hungrig und mude. ich bin aufgeregt aber ich bin traurig.”

🟢 Great use of und and aber, and you’re combining feelings naturally. Just fix spelling/capitalization:

  • müde (add umlaut)
  • aufgeregt and traurig are perfect.

✅ Corrected version:

Ich bin hungrig und müde. Ich bin aufgeregt, aber ich bin traurig.

Pass

⚠️ 3. Food & Taste

“ich meg Apfel, sie sind lecker”

❌ Minor verb mistake — “meg” should be mag (from mögen, “to like”). Also:

  • Apfel → plural is Äpfel (if you mean apples in general)

✅ Corrected version:

Ich mag Äpfel. Sie sind lecker.

⚠️ Almost Pass – minor verb form error

4. Weather & Feelings

“es ist regnet heute, aber ich bin glucklich”

❌ Small mix-up: You’re combining “es ist” and “regnet” — only one is needed:

  • Say either “Es regnet heute” or “Heute ist es regnerisch.”
  • glücklich needs an umlaut

✅ Corrected version:

Es regnet heute, aber ich bin glücklich.

⚠️ Almost Pass – just a common verb structure mix-up

5. Present Continuous

“ich esse”

🟢 Yes! In German, present tense covers both “I eat” and “I’m eating.” For extra clarity, you could add gerade:

✅ Better version:

Ich esse gerade. (“I’m eating right now.”)

Pass

6. Description with Adjectives

“mein hund ist Groß und sehr nett”

🟢 Excellent! Just fix capitalization:

  • groß (lowercase unless at the beginning of the sentence)

✅ Corrected:

Mein Hund ist groß und sehr nett.

Pass

🏁 Final Verdict: PASSED Bronze 3! 🎉

You can:

  • Tell simple stories and routines
  • Link thoughts with und and aber
  • Use adjectives well
  • Express weather, emotions, and actions
  • Show you’re beginning to think in German 👏

🎯 Next Steps / Goals
Next rank: Bronze 4 – talking shopping, directions, plans, and future tense while slowly building vocabulary and more sentences.
