Overview
Swagbucks is one of the most well-known get-paid-to (GPT) make money online sites and apps, frequently mentioned in r/beermoney that rewards users in their own currency, called Swagbucks (SB). Each SB is worth 1 cent (USD), meaning 100 SB = $1.
I’ve personally earned over $2,010.50 using this platform over the years, and I’m writing this review after r/beermoney repeatedly removed my posts. So, I made this blog and YouTube channel to document what’s actually worked for me.

Daily Goal & Streak System
Swagbucks has a Daily Goal system with two earning targets each day. Hitting your first (and optionally second) goal gives bonus SB, and maintaining a daily streak across a full month earns you monthly streak bonuses (paid at the end or the first week of the next month, exact timing varies).
If you don’t have True[x], I don’t recommend worrying about winning streaks or even hitting your daily goals, Swagbucks have removed many things that make hitting these goals easily, without replacing them with anything. You’re free to try hitting them with surveys and game offers, I personally high recommend you don’t.
How I Earn SB (What Actually Works for Me)
1. True[x] Ads (My Main Method)
This is my biggest earner, but unfortunately True[x] is location-based, and not available to everyone.
How to Find True[X]:
- Use a browser, not the app
- Go to the “Offers” tab
- Scroll to “Offers From Our Trusted Partners”
- Click “View All”
- If you only see Tapjoy, refresh the page
- If True[X] flashes for a second and disappears, you may have access
- Best time to catch it: 7:00 A.M. UTC (daily reset time)
How it works:
- Look for “True[x]” either click the name or “See all”
- True[x] opens a new tab with a ~30 sec ad
- Important: click the ad and make sure the “interacted” message appears (usually top-right)
- At the end, you should see a thumbs up/down, once that appears, you can close the tab and repeat
Some days you’ll randomly see more offers in the morning or afternoon. I think they preload your daily True[x] allotment in the background, if you don’t use them by day’s end, they may disappear.
Tip:
If True[x] opens the Discovery page instead of the ad, go back and try again. Sometimes there’s a delay between ad loads. You may need to wait a second or two.
Extra Tip:
If you’re doing this while watching YouTube or gaming, right-click the pop-up tab → Show as Tab → then right-click the tab and Mute Site. Or use your system’s sound mixer to mute the browser if you’re using a secondary one.
2. Swagcodes
Swagcodes are time-limited promo codes (usually expire within an hour). You’ll need to install the Swagbutton browser extension to redeem them. You often get bonus SB for installing the add-on.
Where to find Swagcodes:
- Swagbucks social media (kind of annoying to track)
- r/Swagbucks subreddit – usually the most reliable
- Swagbucks Discord – has a bot that pings when a code drops (though the bot breaks a lot, so I don’t rely on it)
- Occasionally, Swagbutton notifications (not 100% reliable)
3. Magic Receipts & Cashback
For cashback, scroll to the bottom of the homepage and find “Shop and Earn”. If you’re buying from a supported retailer, make sure to click their link through Swagbucks so it can track the purchase and reward a % back in SB.
For receipts, I prefer using the Swagbucks mobile app:
- Scan receipts less than 14 days old
- Earn 1SB per receipt
- Check out Magic Receipts for bonus SB by buying specific products

4. Surveys (Caution!)
I rarely do surveys, and I suggest being cautious. If you do them, look for the ones marked GUARANTEED, even if you get disqualified, you still get the listed SB.
Note: guaranteed surveys are not available on mobile.
Also:
- Go to the bottom of the survey page and click “Complete your profile”
- Then click “Survey Profile” → this opens categories of questions
- You get 2SB per 10 questions, and it adds up
Note: I’m not fully certain anymore, but I believe they still refill some of these questions, so it might be best to do your 50 question cap if you can. (I’ll update this when I can)
Note: You can get locked out of surveys for poor “consistency” sometimes even after one attempt. I’ve seen lots of r/beermoney complaints about this.
5. Daily Poll & Trivia
You’ll find the daily poll by clicking the Daily Goal button.
Swagbucks also has a Trivia app with live and daily games:
- Some trivia sessions give up to 33 SB, but you need to get every question right
- I think you might get 1 SB just for participating, but I’m not 100% sure
I don’t personally enjoy the trivia format, it’s time-sensitive and a bit too try-hard for what little you earn.
6. App Download Offers (Skip These)
Swagbucks offers multi-layer app downloads for SB, but the payouts are often worse than other platforms.

Yes, Swagbucks is legit. I’ve personally cashed out over $2,000 using the platform. You can see my cashout screenshots and routine redemptions above for proof. While it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme, you can absolutely earn extra cash or gift cards with consistent use.
2. What’s the best way to earn Swagbucks as a beginner?
If you’re just getting started, I recommend focusing on the easiest and safest tasks:
- Daily poll (1 SB per day)
- Magic Receipts (scan grocery receipts)
- SwagCodes (free points shared daily)
- True[x] video ads (if available in your area)
Avoid surveys and app install offers unless you know what you’re doing, many aren’t worth the time or risk.

Once you’ve earned enough SB (usually 100 SB = $1), go to the Rewards Store in your account. You can redeem your points for:

Some gift cards go on sale every month (e.g. $25 Amazon for 2,200 SB), so watch for those to get more value.
5. What is the SwagButton and is it worth installing?
The SwagButton is a free browser extension that alerts you to:
- Cashback opportunities while shopping
- Available Swag Codes
- Quick surveys and offers
- Missing SB tracking (if a reward doesn’t post)
It’s a must-have if you shop online, you’ll also need it for putting swagcodes in.
6. Can you really make $100 a day with Swagbucks?
Short answer: not consistently.
While you might hit $100 from a high-paying offer (like signing up for a financial service), most users make $1–$5/day with regular tasks. High-paying offers often require purchases, subscriptions, or waiting weeks to be credited. From my experience, it’s great for extra money, but not a full-time income.
7. How many Swagbucks can you earn by searching the web?
Search earnings are limited and vary by user. In the past, I’d earn 3–11 SB per search win, and usually get 1–3 wins per day.
⚠️ Make sure you click to claim the SB, I forget if you just lose the win or you’ll need to search even more for the missed win you’re on.
Now it’s tougher, Swagbucks requires you to complete other tasks (like scanning receipts or offers) to unlock search rewards. Because of this, I no longer recommend relying on it as a consistent earning method.
Search win tip
I’ve done this for years and it still works today (I’ll update this if this changes), but one of the easiest ways I hit my wins is by going through the alphabet of three letters starting from A to Z, then I replace the second letter, and repeat, then you’ll replace the first letter and so on, just incase they flag me.
Feel free to do this if you want I haven’t gotten banned yet.
⚠️ Make sure you wait like 10s-30s between each search.
Example:
aaa, aab, aac, aad . . . aaz, aba and so on.
Through various tests, it usually takes me about; 14 for the first win, 37+ for the second, and 86+ for the final win. You’ll always earn 3SB for the first, 5Sb for second, and 7SB for the third.
They might have removed this collection wins, which earn you a lot more, I’ll update this if I’m wrong.
Search wins
8. What are Swagstakes and should I use my SB on them?
Swagstakes are sweepstakes entries you can buy using SB for a chance to win prizes like gift cards or electronics. Personally, I don’t recommend them, your SB is better spent on guaranteed redemptions. With earnings being slower than they used to be, I’d rather keep my points than gamble them.
9. How do I verify my PayPal account with Swagbucks?
To redeem PayPal cash, you’ll need to link and verify your PayPal account:
- Go to Account Settings > Linked Accounts
- Click Link PayPal
- Log into PayPal through the Swagbucks prompt
- Done! Your account should be verified instantly
Make sure your Swagbucks email matches your PayPal email for best results.
10. What’s the fastest way to earn Swagbucks in 2025?
The fastest ways right now:
- High-paying Discover offers (check terms carefully!)
- Magic Receipts (easy and quick)
- True[x] video ads (if available)
- Occasional mobile app offers (read fine print)
- Refer-a-friend bonus (10% lifetime match)
Surveys can be fast, but frequent screen-outs waste time. I usually go for offer walls, cashback, or receipts.
