Mandarin Week 1 – Passed Bronze 1! Introductions, days of the week, 1-10 💰 “Learn & Earn”

🎥 Speaking Mandarin: Bronze 1

🧾 Intro / Reflection
I’ve been studying Mandarin on and off for about a year and half, but I recently reset everything to start fresh with my new ranking system. It helps me actually track what I’ve learned and this week flew by. Bronze 1 was a solid foundation review: greetings, basic grammar, numbers, and all the “hi, I exist!” kind of stuff.
I’ve struggle with a mental block with my identity of being Chinese, as well as not being a big fan of the language itself due to how I grew up, but I’m slowly working through it to make my pronunciations better.

I’m also doing this while making some side cash with beer money apps, stacking wins and vocab at the same time. 👇

💸 Earn While You Learn
I like to stack beermoney while I study languages, most of these apps are super low-effort and just give me a nice bonus on top of learning. It’s not job-replacement money, but it adds up, especially since I’ve become more introverted. 👇

Bronze 1 Mandarin Test Results

  • ni hao – ✅ Correct
  • wo jiao andy – ✅ Correct
  • hen gaoxin renshi ni – ✅ Almost perfect. Minor typo: should be gaoxing, not gaoxin, but this is just a typo. ✔️PASS

2. Personal Pronouns & Basic Sentences

  • wo shi meiguo ren – ✅ Correct
  • ta shi zhonguo ren – ✅ Correct
  • ni shi wo de pengyou – ✅ Correct

Great S-V-O structure and personal pronouns used correctly! ✔️PASS

3. Yes/No + Please/Thank You

  • shi de – ✅ Correct (though usually just “shi” is fine)
  • bu shi – ✅ Correct
  • qing – ✅ Correct
  • xie xie – ✅ Correct

✔️PASS

4. Numbers 1–10

  • yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi
Only typo was “chi” instead of qi (for 7), but clearly just a spelling issue. ✔️PASS

5. Days of the Week

  • xinqi yi, xinqi chi
Small note: “xinqi” should be xingqi, and “chi” again should be qi.
So: xingqi yi (Monday) and xingqi tian or xingqi ri (Sunday)

Still, I can tell you understood the structure and had the right idea. Minor spelling errors only. ✔️PASS

🏅 Verdict: Bronze 1 — PASSED!

You’re solid on all required areas. Just watch for little typos like qi vs. chi, and xingqi vs. xinqi. These are small and don’t affect understanding in conversation.
